PuntersLounge In Edinburgh

Well here is my version of events for an absolutely fantastic weekendFirstly thanks to Paul for another organising piece of brilliance, and with him being pretty rough as well, but as usual he kept things running smoothly.

We left our house at 9am on Saturday morning for a train journey of 5hrsOn the train further up north Football tipper (Nigel) popped along into our Carriage looking for mowgli who had said he was in coach D. But he was obviously on another train.

We get off at Edinburgh and meet Tippers Missus Jamie, who by now was gagging for a Fag. We then had a very short walk to the Hotel.We bump in to Pocketlady and datapunter and they tell us where everyone is, we then check in and arrange to meet after a quick shower.We met in the reception area and headed Straight off to the Sports bar as tipper had got a call saying that’s where everyone was, another short walk and looking at the wonderful buildings on the way, outside was Uber and Gazza taking time out to have a smoke along with Mr V.Into the Bar meet up with the regular faces and meet the fresh faces,

First Impression of SteveO was well his fitting in well, His pi$$ed out of his face already. Was introduced to a few people in here, Heidi, Ali’s Wife, Vickie, Morls better half, and Derek and Nana, Derek very Irish and very very funny.We had a few beers in here while we waited to go on the Terror Tour.Terror Tour was interesting, personally it would work better with less people, As soon as we were inside and the young Girl asked for complete silence, it was me at the rear of the group that decided to break wind to a few giggles of Laughter.

Only one incident in here for me was when Ali slipped pout the Back and pi$$ed on a dummy’s head, The room was in total darkness and as he came out I grabbed his face and he $hit it.
Everybody seemed to split up from here, going off to get food or back to the sports bar.I now take Georgina for something to eat, just pie and chips, and tell her come on just a little walk up to the Castle to have a look around and take a few pics, I walked her everywhere and got a bit of an earful for it, we eventually got back to the Hotel.
Georgina goes to bed and I pop up to the Bar in the hotel and have a drink with Gazza, This is were I met Aldric and his wife, I had a little bit of a Laugh here with Heidi, Ali, & Meatman, last lot to leave the bar was myself Ali, Heidi & Steve, I go to bed they go off for something to eat.




Well here we are Sunday morning, Georgina and I get to Mc Donald’s at 10.25 and at the counter for 10.31 only to be told breakfast finished at 10.30, I ask about the difference of a minute but it falls on deaf ears, so we have a some tea and a burger.
Back to hotel and on to coach to the races, I find Big Gaz and ask for the first race selection, I am on at 11/4 ,along with backing the 3rd at 18/1 E.W. So as usual Gaz delivers and keeps up the great record.:
Next Race talking with Pene and Sam I think, I say to Pene you backing that one in the next Danish Rebel @100/1, and off she goes and duly backs it E.W and draws a few £££ as it places 2nd, Well in that race I backed the 3rd e/w called don’t tell the wife, sure some one else backed the winner, would have been nice if all 3 of us were together at the same time and done the tricast, It Paid 10K.
Georgina was feeling the cold and Paul showed us where we could go and sit in the warm, with me nipping out to have a flutter with the bookie, the robbing bastids they were up there, 1/6th 1/7th of the odds a place, Last race I had a bet without the fav and had the 2nd at 10’s so ended the day in profit.
Back at hotel Morls starts setting up the poker with Uber and Mr V, Paul getting the names of all players. I think most players were interested in getting out for the beer pong and dance off, I thoroughly enjoyed all, Beer pong I was partnered with Big Gaz against Frisky and The mighty Townsend, Towns doing some great karate moves with the Bruce Lee sound to knock the ball away, we were well beaten and the beer was drunk.
The Dance off as every one keeps saying was a fix, (Grovel, Grovel) Lars was fantastic, we know it was all for fun but SteveO was good, and Gazza with Matt stripping, and finally Sam and me, I let the side down sorry Sam.

Paulm03 got me on Tia Maria with Archers and coke, and I had a few of them, the guys behind the bar just knew what you were drinking and the drinks were ready as soon as you got up there.Tipper has the pictures of the little green Muppet, I am sure you will find some very funny.
SteveO stood still with legs open, so I go to give him a little kick, he closes his legs swings around and kicks me in my shin thus knocking me flying, Georgie and Heniek help me up and I just laugh and say “well at least I kept hold of my drink”I them limp off wounded, BTW Steve my leg has now swollen up and missus keeps telling me to get it seen to, will wait till tomorrow to see if swelling has gone down.
SteveO is the new karaoke star along side Mowgli.Russp, Aldric, ScottyXS were debating about Scotty’s threads, Very funny some parts of it.
Sitting in the Bar early morning and talking with Nastro, Ali and Aldric, That’s some accent Nastro has, I liked his replies, “Yeah That’s Correct” several times.Shall get a thread going on GC soon about the discussion we was having.
I then strolled off to bed around 5.30am.I love meeting up with all you guys and ladies, I am sure the newbies to this meeting will be saying hurry up lets get the next one sorted.

Once again a Big Big Thank you to Paul and anyone else that helped in making this yet another great weekend to remember

My 2nd MTT WIN

Hi all, Last night 16/12/06 we had our annual freeroll for $1000 on betfair.
This is organised by our Punters lounge team, I am not 100% sure who does all the work in getting this event for us.
But I would assume it would be the likes of GAF (Trevor) rtb147 (Paul).And of course the moderators for keeping out the unwanted gatecrashers.
But I would like to thank them in their hard work in getting it up and running.
We have some good banter during the play with our other members.
I had to leave the game for half an hour , in which my chips went down by 7k.
And i went from begin a big chip leader about 8k in front to begin in 7th place.

I was have a great run of cards knocking out players by hitting the dreaded river card against them.
I went all in against PLBREAL with an open end straight draw, to which he had me beat with trip Queen's .
Only for me to hit a river 9 for the straight.
On Final Table i take out Jones12345 he has Pocket Kings, Again i hit the river card for an Ace.
And Finally up against Eltrev.
I think we only played 2 hands and it was all over.
I raised him with my KJ suited. he re-raised i think so i go all-in.
First card a K.. And i win my 2nd MTT.

It is an amazing feeling, to win against such BRILLIANT Players, as those from the Punters Lounge.

I first Joined up there in October 2005.
The Poker Forum there is of an excellent standard.
Plenty of Help and advice for all.

From when i first joined i did not really play any poker seriously,
Since reading the posts there i have learnt so much.

It may have took me a year but i have just won my first tournament.
Not much money but it was the win i was delighted with.

In between this i have had several top 10 places.

I wish you all good luck at the tables.
I will be trying much harder in the New Year.

We have some fantastic players on the forum,
Winning trips to the W.S.O.P .
Going to tournaments in Singapore
And a trip down under to watch us throw away the ashes.

So all is possible for each and everyone of us to achieve our Dreams and of course our Goals.
